Yup, its high time we hosted a celebration of music and spirit(s), and gave proper acknowledgement to artists that have graced our lives with the essence of their soul (in other words, its an excuse to have drinks and blackmail those who have been captured on video...), the Harrison Academy of Music is proud to announce the 2009 "Hammies" Awards banquet on Saturday, June 27, 2009. This will be a red carpet affair (and yes, we will have a red carpet) honoring the following nominees:

The Hammies Executive Committee has tallied their votes and the winners will be announced when the envelops are unsealed on the 27th, and they have asked me to publish the following press release:"We are proud to have been involved in selecting this years winners from the 2009 nomination class. Lest you think this was all fun and games, we took the task of selecting the winners very seriously, and were judging the spirit of the performance in addition to the musical excellence exhibited by the nominees. The artists that willing gave themselves to the stage, naked in the harsh honesty of spotlight and judgement of the audience have earned our respect."

The Harrison Academy of Music is opening it's doors to all for this gala celebration starting at 7:00pm on June 27th, and the Awards Ceremony will be followed by a impromptu music/jam session/party. Hors Devours and drinks of an adult nature will be served, and proper attire (tuxes and high heeled sneakers are de rigeur!) and ettiquette are requested (in other words, this may not be appropriate for the young'uns, so plan accordingly). This will be a party 'til you drop or dawn comes event.We are hoping for a large turn out (its been *way* too quiet for the Home Owners Association lately), so grab a friend and come on out and lets show those Hollywood folks how its REALLY done!
